How to Hit a Driver Off the Deck - Hitting a Driver Off of the Ground is Easy!
Do you really want to impress your playing competitors? If so, then you should try hitting a driver off of the ground. Why would you need to do this? Well, say you are about to hit your second shot on a par five, but you cannot quite reach with a 3 wood. If you can learn to hit your driver off of the ground effectively, then you give yourself a much greater chance to reach par fives in just two shots.
To learn how to hit a driver off the deck you need to have the proper setup position. When you address a driver on the tee, your ball position should typically be toward the front of your stance. However, when you are looking to hit a driver off of the deck, ball position changes. When hitting a driver right off of the ground, you must put the ball more toward the middle of your stance, and strike more with a descending blow.
When you are trying to hit a golf ball off of the deck, it is important that you keep a good tempo. Hitting the ball as opposed to swinging the golf club with a smooth tempo can lead to trouble. What I try to do when hitting a driver off of the ground is start my backswing slower than normal, and make sure that I make a full shoulder turn, while keeping my spine angle the same.
